Kiddikona Pre- Primary School strives to develop the whole child in his or her potential. This requires total involvement and active participation at all levels: physical, spiritual, social, intellectual and emotional.

We accept that each child is a unique individual who learns at his or her own pace and in his /her own way,therefore we strive to help build every child’s self-image and his/her confidence.

We aim to provide an atmosphere and place where the child can feel safe, loved, nurtured, stimulated, creative and secured. Parents are included in all aspects of the child’s development and the school follows a 3tier partnership approach to enable a well-rounded child and learning experience.

We believe that children brought up with a love for God connects easier to their purpose, destiny and design and go forth to become happy and confident children who grows up to make their unique contribution in their respective communities.

Education is Key

The school has a 20 years history of educational excellence. We are fully compliant with GDE; DSD & The Department of Health & Safety.

Teachers are fully trained and qualified and empowered throughout the year through various courses to ensure best practice methodologies are followed. The school also holds a license and accreditation for teacher training and development which takes place every Saturday at our centre in Mondeor.

Aftercare for primary school learners is offered providing homework support and assistance with projects required for assessments.

Curriculum Matters

We follow an eclectic model of learning which is a combination of different Educational methodologies such as CAPS; ELDAS, REGIO Emelia; Learn through play etc. Learners are assessed daily through the use of observation reports & various rubrics adjusted to suit the age of the learner.

We believe in giving each child the opportunity to shine and for this reason have partnered with various service providers including computers; dancing; play ball, net ball and swimming to help facilitate analytical and critical thinking skills combined with play and experiential learning.

We promote the 5 R’s of learning which is:

  • Reading together as a daily -this can be done as family activity as well
  • Rhyming, playing, talking, singing and cuddling together often
  • Routines and regular times for meals, play and sleeping, which help children know what they can expect and what is expected of them
  • Rewards for everyday successes, realizing that praise from those closest to a child is a very potent reward
  • Relationships that are reciprocal, nurturing and enduring are the foundation of healthy child development.
